FAQ
Pricing, schedules, slash treatment, log markets, cost-share programs — what landowners ask us most. Don't see your question? Give us a call.
How we work, the area we cover, and what to expect when you call.
We work across eastern Idaho — Jefferson, Madison, Bonneville, and Fremont counties — and into Teton County, Wyoming. If you're on the edge of that, give us a call; we'll usually still take a look.
Since 1953. Three generations of the Wilcox family have worked these woods, and the same family runs the operation today.
Yes — fully licensed, bonded, and carrying general liability and workers' comp on every job. We'll send proof of coverage before we start work.
Selective cuts, clear-cuts, and what your stand is worth.
We walk the stand with you, talk through your goals — income, forest health, view corridors, fire risk — and lay out a written harvest plan. You sign off before any saws run.
Either. Some landowners want a flat stumpage check up front; others prefer to share market upside and get paid per-thousand at scale. We'll lay out both options and you pick.
Depending on the site, we lop-and-scatter, build burn piles for the landowner to torch in winter, or chip on-site. We'll match the treatment to your wishes and the local fire district's rules.
How quotes work and what drives the price.
Yes. We'll come walk the property, talk through what you want done, and follow up with a written estimate — no charge, no obligation.
It depends on tree density, stem size, slope, and access. Most building-lot clearing lands somewhere between $3,000 and $8,000 an acre, but we always quote on-site so the number reflects the actual job.
Yes. We work regularly with NRCS and state forestry cost-share programs. We can't guarantee approval, but we know how the paperwork goes and will help where we can.
Happy to talk through your stand or your lot — call or send a message and we'll get back to you within a business day.
Request a free walk-through — we'll talk through your timber, your timing, and a fair price.
